StateShield Health, Inc. is a managing general underwriter. We act under binding authority granted by licensed insurance carriers; we do not sell insurance in our own name, and the carrier — not StateShield — is the insurer of record.

This website collects only limited business contact information you choose to provide, together with standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, used to operate the site and respond to inquiries.

Separately, in performing our underwriting and administrative functions, we receive personal and health-related information about applicants, members and dependents from employers, agents, administrators and the carriers we represent. That information is received and held on behalf of the applicable carrier and is used solely to evaluate and underwrite risk, issue and service coverage, administer eligibility and enrollment, support claims and premium functions, and meet audit, reinsurance and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to the carrier, to service providers and reinsurers bound by comparable confidentiality obligations, and as required or permitted by law.

We maintain administrative, physical and technical safeguards designed to protect this information consistent with applicable privacy and security laws, including HIPAA and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act where applicable.
